To begin making the Green Moong Dal Khichdi Recipe, first wash and soak the rice and moong dal for about 1 to 2 hours. Drain the water.
After the soaking period is over, we will now begin to cook the Khichdi. You can cook the kichadi in the pressure cooker or in a saucepan.
Into the pressure cooker, add the soaked rice and moong dal, and the remaining ingredients into the pressure cooker.
Add 2-1/2 cups of water, cover the cooker, place the weight on and pressure cook until you hear 2 whistles. After two whistles turn the heat to low and simmer for 3 minutes and turn off the heat.
Allow the cooker to rest until pressure released naturally.
Once the pressure has released, open the cooker and you will notice the rice and dal has a mushy texture. Stir well, adjust the salt to suit your taste.
